“He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness… so that you can be generous on every occasion.”

(2 Cor 9:10-11)

Autumn is a period when we celebrate harvest, a time of rejoicing and celebration! In 2 Corinthians, we read that God supplies us abundantly with everything we need so that we might be generous. God’s provision is like seed that he invites us to sow and we do that by giving it away.

In normal situations when you give something away, you lose it. But in the economy of God, the more we give, the more we receive.

Generosity is built into the fabric of creation. How does a plant multiply? By giving away its seed. The ultimate example of this is Jesus himself, who gave his life that we might live. And so generous giving is also built into the very fabric of the Christian life.

To those who have much, God has entrusted much so we can give much. God has blessed us so we can bless others.

This is what our church is committed to doing. Our activities are like seed that is being sown into the lives of those who come. Worship and teaching, our new 5pm service, our children’s and youth ministries, our primary school, pastoral visiting, Alpha, Night shelter, Farsi ministry, counselling… It is all kingdom seed that we are sowing.

All around us this seed is growing and overflowing to others through our creative outreach, support of local churches, resourcing of church planting and revitalisation, as well as our giving to wider mission. This is kingdom seed that is being sown, watered, enlarged for harvest. But this is only possible because church members give generously.

This year, our Autumn Gift Day comes at a critical time for us as a church.
In order to fulfil our mission, we need to raise £100,000.

So please pray about how much you can give to our Autumn Gift Day.
Your gift will be gratefully received and gladly invested in God’s kingdom work!

God is calling us to reach people with the message of Christ’s love. He has extravagantly blessed us and we are convinced he has great plans for our future. We invite you to be a part of that future through your donations and commitments.
