We are delighted to share the warmest welcome to children and families into our St Barnabas community. We have Sunday groups during our 10:30am Families service for children aged 0-12. You can also join in with little ones for Barnie’s Soft Play from 10-11:30am on Tuesday mornings, and our monthly Family Fun Days taking place throughout the year with a bouncy castle, craft activities, games, and a café for parents.
Sundays Families Service at 10:30am
Our aim is for the children to grow together as followers of Jesus within God’s Kingdom community. We hope to do this through activities rooted in the Bible, experiencing ways and examples for them to live their faith in action, and through prayerful approaches that are encouraging our young intercessors.
Our children are known and loved by God. The hope is for the children to be equipped – lit up! – on a Sunday morning through our groups full of fun, love, friendship, worship and learning to then go out into their days and week ahead rooted in God’s love and ready to shine Jesus’s light in the places and spaces where they are.
We are encouraged by our Church’s namesake, Barnabas to be good, generous, adventurous people following in the way of Christ. Come and join STBK Children for a luminous time in growing in and sharing God’s love!

STBK Children’s Groups
SPARKS
Ages 0-2
On the first and fourth Sundays of the month, we welcome our littlest members to join with their parents for a time of worship songs, playing and prayer (and coffee and refreshments!). Parents can listen to the live stream of the service whilst there is space for the children to play. During the other Sundays of the month, you are most welcome to join in with the main church service or sit in the Church Room with your children where there are toys for them to play with and the live stream of the service can be viewed on the screens.
GLOW
Nursery and reception
Come along and share in the weekly Bible memory verse through fun, friendship and worship! There is some free-play time with lots of toys and crafts and time to share in a snack together. We enjoy praising God with singing and dancing and then we have some quiet (or sometimes noisy space) to meet with Him for ourselves. We also join together with all the other children’s groups for a time of sharing, reflection and prayer to get ready to head out into the week sharing God’s love and light.
SHINE
School yrs 1–4
Each week we meet downstairs for games, Bible teaching focused on the weekly verses and passage, prayer, worship, crafts and more. All with lots of fun! We pray that the children may grow in their knowledge of and love for God and enter into a personal relationship with him; that they may bear much fruit for God’s kingdom now and in the future. We also join together with all the other children’s groups for a time of sharing, reflection and prayer to get ready to head out into the week sharing God’s love and light.
IGNITE
School yrs 5–7
Our Ignite group for the older children is a special space for young people in School Years 5-7 where they can encounter the God who made and loves them and spend time with old and new friends. Each week there is a time with games, discussions focused around the weekly Bible passage, considering our faith in action during the day-to-day, creative moments, and time to meet personally with Jesus. We also join together with all the other children’s groups – with opportunities for the older children to take a lead - for a time of sharing, reflection and prayer to get ready to head out into the week sharing God’s love and light.

Welcome to the STBK Youth!
Come and join a community that celebrates who you are. At STBK Youth, every moment is a chance to grow, laugh and explore faith together.
Every Sunday at 10:30 during the family service our youth sessions come alive with creativity, energy and connection in the Youth Garage. This is your space to study the bible, ask questions, grow in faith, and share life. A welcome and relaxed environment where everyone matters.
You can also join us for the monthly events that are all about fun and fellowship. This is the perfect opportunity to deepen friendship and create memories. Whether you are looking for a chilled evening like movie nights, board games, or something more active like trips out, there is always something going on here.

Barnies Soft Play
Barnies Soft Play
Barnies Soft Play is a chance for the children in our area to let loose and have fun! We meet on Tuesday mornings during term time, from 10am- 11.30am, in the main church building. There is tea and coffee available as well as Soft Play pods, a ballpit and lots of toys! Barnies soft play costs £5.00 and is suitable for children aged 0-4 years old.
Barnies Soft Play will be taking a short break over the summer. We will be back on Tuesday 8th September. We look forward to seeing you then!

FAMILY FUN DAYS
Our Family Fun Days are an opportunity to open our doors wide for a morning of fun and fellowship for all the family! Aimed towards families from our local community with children aged 12 and under, there is lots of fun to be had with a Bouncy Castle, Soft Play pods, Balloonist, Toddler Toys, Crafts, games, and coffee and refreshments.
It costs £5.00 and there’s no need to book. Hope to see you there!

St Barnabas and St Philip’s school is a thriving Church of England primary school in the heart of Kensington committed to providing a broad and balanced education within a secure Christian environment.
As a church school, the Christian ethos is very important and our church (along with St Philip’s) plays a major part in this. School services are held in each church throughout the year, members of our team take regular collective worship, and the church is represented on the board of governors by the Vicar and PCC representatives.
Please note that regular members of St Barnabas church have priority access to places at the school.
