Dearest Lord Jesus. 

 You taught your disciples to pray, saying ‘Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who have sinned against us.’

 Today I ask that you prompt me to show real forgiveness to someone who has hurt me badly. 

 I am not even sure if they know that they have hurt me,

but I still hold on to it and struggle to let go.

  Help me to leave that hurt behind and to forgive them, just as you promise to forgive me.

 Help me to be at peace and so be able to share in happier times with them in the future.

 I pray this in the merciful and loving name of Jesus.
