'Sugandh' means 'fragrance', and the team’s aim is to bring the fragrance of Christ to needy people in Delhi slums. The organisation was founded in 1997 by a former member of St Barnabas, and continues under the auspices of South Asian Concern and the leadership of Ms. Lalrinmawii (known as Mawii).

The team’s work includes the provision of basic education for children who have never had formal schooling, vocational training in embroidery, crafts, and painting on fabric for youth and young women, self-help groups for women (to empower them economically), a weekly health clinic, and relief work when needed. ‘Sugandh’ also offers counselling to individuals, and the team’s pastoral worker holds prayer meetings and visits the families of those who are being helped through the charity.
